Our Donation Efforts

It's so important for us to give back to the communities we live and work in.

Our donation efforts didn't always revolve around seafood! In 2019 Henry’s wife Jenn and 2 of their young children started a small soap fundraiser called Soap for Hope. During the fall holidays and in the Spring they would work hard to make handmade soaps that they sold to friends, family and around the community of the Kenai Peninsula. All profits were donated to help support children in foster care here in Alaska. After 2 years of fundraisers the kids have had their fair share of soap making and moved on to other activities - but Jenn wanted the spirit of Soap for Hope alive so she decided to donate a portion of profits from her small wildcrafting business. She gives back a portion of all profits to Alaskan organizations ranging from foster care non-profits to organizations that fight food insecurity, ocean conservation, wildlife conservation and special education programs.

Arkouda Fish Co. adopted the same model of giving back to the community and also donates a portion of all its profits. We’ve also recently funded a project called Autism and Cold Water Safety, that Jenn created. Autism and Cold Water Safety brochures and live-virtual presentations are available for free to any organization, school or individuals who can benefit from them. The goal is to reach as many communities in Alaska as possible, especially rural and remote areas to teach the importance of cold water safety to families with children that experience developmental disabilities.

Some of the organizations we have donated to include:

Friends of Alaska's Children in Care

The Alaska Sealife Center

The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank

Fish for Families Fundraiser
